Sponsor a Vulnerable Child Through Our Outreach Ministry
Since 2015, Pope Francis Outreach Ministry has served vulnerable children and families throughout the Volta Region of Ghana, providing compassionate care to those facing severe poverty, chronic illness, disability, abandonment, or the loss of one or both parents. Many of these children remain in the care of grandparents or guardians who struggle to meet even their most basic needs, while others require ongoing medical treatment, nutritional support, educational assistance, or emergency intervention. Through our outreach programme, Pope Francis School & Health Centre ensures that these children are not forgotten and that hope reaches them wherever they are.
Your monthly sponsorship provides life-changing support tailored to each child’s individual needs. Depending on their circumstances, your generosity may provide nutritious meals, medications, routine medical care, transportation to specialist
appointments, emergency healthcare, educational assistance, school uniforms and supplies, safe housing support, spiritual guidance, regular home visits, counseling, and advocacy through hospitals and Social Welfare services. Children also receive the encouragement, stability, and loving care they need to overcome difficult beginnings and build brighter futures with dignity and hope.
As a Vulnerable Child sponsor, you become a valued member of our extended PFSHC family. Each month, you will receive email updates with photographs, videos, personal stories, and glimpses into your sponsored child’s life and the wider PFSHC community. You will celebrate milestones, witness their growth, and experience the joy of knowing that your faithful support is helping transform the life of a vulnerable child; one filled with renewed hope, opportunity, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

Comfort, age 2
Meet Comfort
Abandoned by her parents. Comfort was born with a severe chronic illness which has resulted in severely stunted growth and delayed physical milestones, creating daily hurdles for her and her primary caregiver; grandmother. Despite these obstacles, Comfort is making meaningful progress; she is now gradually learning to stand upright for longer periods, a significant achievement that reflects both her inner determination and the dedicated support she receives. Comfort is growing in resilience each day. Though small and physically vulnerable, she is patient and persistent, steadily building the strength and balance needed to explore her world in new ways. Each moment she stands a little longer is a testament to her quiet courage. Your monthly gift will help PFSHC Outreach Ministry provide Comfort with food which is vital so she can tolerate her daily meds. Plus it will allow her to attend her scheduled Doctor appointments.

Wonder, age 13
Meet Wonder
Wonder was born with a severe congenital disability that renders her non-verbal and immobile. Abandoned by her father, she relies on her mother Millicent to carry her and assist her with all her daily functions. This commitment makes employment impossible for her mother. Though she cannot speak, Wonder communicates in her own ways. Those closest to her describe a calm and observant presence. Wonder’s story is not one of helplessness, but one of love. She may not be able to move on her own, but she moves the hearts of those around her. Her life is a quiet reminder of the deep human need for connection, touch, and compassionate care, celebrating the invisible bond between a mother and a child. Your monthly gift will help PFSHC Outreach Ministry provide Wonder with food.
Daniel, age 4 months
Meet Daniel
Born into fragile circumstances, Daniel’s start in life has been marked by both challenge and compassion. His mother, struggling with mental illness is unfit to care for him, and his father is unknown. In a powerful act of communal love, a new mother from the same neighborhood, herself caring for a young infant, has stepped in to breastfeed and nurture Daniel alongside her own child. Though his future remains uncertain, Daniel’s present is defined by an unexpected but profound bond, one that offers him the nourishment, warmth, and humanity every newborn deserves. Though only months old, Daniel is responsive and settling into the rhythm of care provided by his surrogate mother. He is dependent yet resilient, adapting to the warmth and safety of an embrace that, though not from his biological mother, is filled with sincerity and milk. Daniel’s story is a tender reminder that family is not always defined by blood, but often by acts of love. In the midst of vulnerability, a stranger’s kindness has become his sanctuary. His life already speaks to the deep wells of compassion that exist within communities, and the quiet heroism of women who step in to nurture those who are not their own. Your monthly gift will help his surrogate mother care for him.
Lawrence, age 2

Your monthly gift will help PFSHC Outreach Ministry provide Lawrence with food which is vital so he can tolerate his daily meds. Plus it will allow him to attend his scheduled Doctor appointments.
Meet Angel and Sabina, Our First Middle School Graduates
FROM BISHOP KONZEN SCHOOL AT PFSHC TO CATHOLIC HIGH
SCHOOL: A STORY OF RESILIENCE AND HOPE
At Pope Francis School and Health Centre, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams. Today, we celebrate two remarkable young women, Angel and Sabina, who have completed their time at our middle school; Bishop Konzen School, and are advancing to St. Catherine Senior High School.
Angel and Sabina were identified as highly vulnerable children in need of support at a very young age and became beneficiaries of the PFSHC outreach program before the Bishop Konzen School was established in 2022. Following the school’s establishment, both were enrolled, continuing their journey under the care and support of PFSHC. Both live with health challenges that require ongoing medical care and attention. Despite the challenges posed by their health conditions and personal circumstances, they have demonstrated remarkable strength, perseverance, and determination, refusing to let their challenges define their potential or stand in the way of their education and future.
Angel and Sabina have been part of the PFSHC family for years, growing not only in knowledge but in confidence and character. During their time with us, they have received not only academic instruction but also medical care, emotional support, and the encouragement they needed to believe in themselves. PFSHC has also provided them with spiritual guidance, nurturing their faith and helping them develop a strong moral foundation rooted in the values of faith, compassion and integrity.
As they transition to St. Catherine Senior High School, they will continue their education in Home Economics, a path that aligns with their interests and aspirations; Inspired by the care and support they received at PFSHC during their own health journeys, Angel and Sabina both hope to become nurses. Their dream is to give back to vulnerable people the same compassion and care they received at PFSHC, turning their own experiences into a lifelong commitment to
healing and service.
This milestone is not just an achievement for Angel and Sabina. It is a testament to what can happen when a community comes together to care for its most vulnerable members. It is a reminder that with the right support, children facing even the most difficult circumstances can rise, thrive, and reach for their dreams. We are proud of Angel and Sabina. We are grateful for the staff, volunteers, and supporters who
have walked with them on this journey. And we are committed to continuing our work so that more children like them can have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
To Angel and Sabina: your PFSHC family is cheering you on. Go and shine. The future is yours.
