Sponsor a Vulnerable Child Through Our Outreach Ministry

Since 2015, Pope Francis Outreach Ministry has served vulnerable children and families throughout the Volta Region of Ghana, providing compassionate care to those facing severe poverty, chronic illness, disability, abandonment, or the loss of one or both parents. Many of these children remain in the care of grandparents or guardians who struggle to meet even their most basic needs, while others require ongoing medical treatment, nutritional support, educational assistance, or emergency intervention. Through our outreach programme, Pope Francis School & Health Centre ensures that these children are not forgotten and that hope reaches them wherever they are.

Your monthly sponsorship provides life-changing support tailored to each child’s individual needs. Depending on their circumstances, your generosity may provide nutritious meals, medications, routine medical care, transportation to specialist

appointments, emergency healthcare, educational assistance, school uniforms and supplies, safe housing support, spiritual guidance, regular home visits, counseling, and advocacy through hospitals and Social Welfare services. Children also receive the encouragement, stability, and loving care they need to overcome difficult beginnings and build brighter futures with dignity and hope.

As a Vulnerable Child sponsor, you become a valued member of our extended PFSHC family. Each month, you will receive email updates with photographs, videos, personal stories, and glimpses into your sponsored child’s life and the wider PFSHC community. You will celebrate milestones, witness their growth, and experience the joy of knowing that your faithful support is helping transform the life of a vulnerable child; one filled with renewed hope, opportunity, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

Abandoned by her parents. Wide-eyed baby boy

Daniel, age 4 months

Meet Daniel

Born into fragile circumstances, Daniel’s start in life has been marked by both challenge and compassion. His mother, struggling with mental illness is unfit to care for him, and his father is unknown. In a powerful act of communal love, a new mother from the same neighborhood, herself caring for a young infant, has stepped in to breastfeed and nurture Daniel alongside her own child. Though his future remains uncertain, Daniel’s present is defined by an unexpected but profound bond, one that offers him the nourishment, warmth, and humanity every newborn deserves. Though only months old, Daniel is responsive and settling into the rhythm of care provided by his surrogate mother. He is dependent yet resilient, adapting to the warmth and safety of an embrace that, though not from his biological mother, is filled with sincerity and milk. Daniel’s story is a tender reminder that family is not always defined by blood, but often by acts of love. In the midst of vulnerability, a stranger’s kindness has become his sanctuary. His life already speaks to the deep wells of compassion that exist within communities, and the quiet heroism of women who step in to nurture those who are not their own. Your monthly gift will help his surrogate mother care for him.
