Every child deserves the opportunity to discover the unique gifts God has placed within them. At PFSHC, our students are among the most vulnerable in Ghana. Many have lost one or both parents, live with chronic medical conditions, or come from families facing overwhelming poverty. Without support, many of these children would be deprived of the education, healthcare, stability, and encouragement every child deserves. Through the Bishop Konzen Educational Scholarship, you provide far more than tuition; you invest in a child’s future and empower them to grow into the person God created them to be.

Your scholarship provides a quality Catholic education, daily nutritious meals, comprehensive healthcare, routine medical examinations, medications, school uniforms, textbooks, educational supplies, and a safe, loving boarding environment where every child is treated with dignity and care. Students also participate in weekly Holy Mass, daily religious instruction, music, art, sports, computer studies, agriculture, leadership development, and recreational activities that nurture their intellectual, spiritual, emotional, physical, and social development. Every aspect of campus life is intentionally designed to help each child thrive and reach their fullest potential.

Gifty is a new student at the Bishop Konzen School, having never attended school before. Her life has been marked by both loss and hardship. She was born with a chronic disease, and her father passed away when she was a toddler. Her mother is a farmer, and their home lacks electricity and running water. Though her world is lit by lanterns and moonlight rather than electricity, it is filled with a devotion to her mother. Gifty possesses a gentle but strong presence. She is enjoying her time with her peers at school.

Stephen, Age 14, First Grade

Stephen is a new student at the Bishop Konzen School, having never attended school before. Orphaned at age 4. Stephen has a chronic condition since birth which has resulted in severely stunted growth. This physical challenge affects his cognitive and neurological development which makes him appear, think and act younger than he actually is. His aunt was his primary caregiver. His difficult start in life has cultivated in him a deep sense of resilience and a quiet perseverance that inspires those who know him. His comfort food is Eggs!

Gbeku, Age 7, Kindergarten

Gbeku is a new student at Bishop Konzen School and has never attended school. Her life is a profound story of carrying multiple burdens with grace. Orphaned at a young age, she lives under the devoted care of her grandmother, who serves as her primary source of stability and love. Gbeku has 3 difficult chronic diseases she lives with. Despite these layered challenges, her grandmother’s care is a testament to resilience and compassion in the face of overwhelming odds. Gbeku possesses remarkable inner strength. She enjoys spending time with her peers at school.

Mawuli, Age 8, Kindergarten

Mawuli’s young life is a portrait of navigating significant hardship. Orphaned as an infant. His grandmother is his primary caregiver; she works tirelessly cleaning public toilets to earn a meager income. His physical development has resulted in stunted growth due to prolonged malnutrition.

Despite the quiet struggle that defines his daily life, he possesses a gentle nature. There is a resilient spirit within him. He shows deep affection and unspoken love towards his grandmother. Your monthly gift will sustain his nutritional growth and give his body and mind a chance to recover and truly thrive.

Matilda is a new student at the Bishop Konzen School. She was born with a chronic disease that has resulted in delayed physical development affecting her walking and speech patterns. Her mother is unemployed, which has led to poverty. Since her birth, she and her mother were recipients of the PFSHC Outreach Ministry and received monthly food supplements. Despite her physical delays, Matilda is discovering the world around her in her structured and nurturing Kindergarten class. She gets very excited for Thursday suppers since Jollof rice is her favorite food. Her presence is a quiet testament to perseverance. Matilda’s story is one of vulnerability met with targeted compassion. The support from PFSHC is not just providing an education, medical treatment, and food; it is investing in her potential.
