Health Centre Capital Campaign
In Avenui, Volta Region, the nearest hospital is more than 25 kilometers away. For many families, this distance, combined with limited transportation and severe poverty, creates dangerous delays in receiving even the most basic medical care. For many residents services like maternity care, emergency treatment, and chronic illness support are entirely out of reach.
Pregnant women have no local facilities to deliver safely. Grandparents caring for young children have no clinic to turn to when illness strikes. Even common medicines are inaccessible without a costly and time-consuming journey. In this context, the Pope Francis Health Centre is not a convenience. It is a critical intervention that can prevent suffering, preserve life, and restore dignity.
Over the past decade, we have laid the physical and spiritual groundwork for a transformative healthcare presence in Avenui. The Health Centre and school are built and operational. We have also been providing basic internal healthcare to our students and staff.
Now we must expand. To serve the wider community, we need to hire local doctors, nurses, and support staff. We must furnish our maternity and outpatient wards, stock the pharmacy with essential medications, and prepare to receive patients from across the region. Your generosity will also help us complete staff housing and launch public awareness campaigns so that no family in crisis is left without help.
Giving Opportunities
To honor your generosity, we offer special naming and recognition opportunities across the campus. Your gift can leave a lasting legacy of compassion and healing:
