Sustainability

At PFSHC, our commitment to sustainability is ingrained in our operations. We strive to maximize the utilization of naturally available resources and locally prevalent staple foods in our area, thus reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship and regional community.

Our eight acre farm is a testament to this commitment. It’s a thriving landscape where we sustainably cultivate rice, plantains, moringa, and maize. These crops not only provide essential nutrients to our students but also promote biodiversity, contribute to soil health, and support our local ecosystem.

In our poultry operations, we raise chickens. These chickens are not only a valuable source of consistent, high-quality protein for our students but also form an integral part of our sustainable farm ecosystem, contributing to a cycle of nourishment that underpins our commitment to sustainable education and nutrition.

PFSHC has two man-made fish ponds where we raise Catfish to eat. We are very grateful to the benefactor who funded the ponds. The catfish adds protein to our students’ diet. The catfish are smoked and then frozen to be served over time.

Our water purification system has been a very cost-efficient way to provide clean water to our students and staff. Instead of having to purchase bottled water we are able to drink from our two deep bore wells that are located on our campus.
