We are so proud of the accomplishments of our students. As we complete our first year of school our 30 students have far exceeded the expectations in the classroom. Most had not ever attended school. Although English is the national language of Ghana, almost all were years behind in speaking English. Academically all were below grade-level and couldn’t speak functional English. But through intense daily , evening and Saturday classroom efforts now many are getting close to age and grade levels. Depending on their age, they’re beginning to use one- and two-word English phrases. Some have developed significant comprehension and can read, write, and understand simple sentences in English.
